Belo Horizonte goes wireless
The city of Belo Horizonte is about to become the first Brazilian capital to be 100% covered by wireless internet connection. The plan is to have the entire city (apart from some areas of envirnomental protection) covered by 2008, making wireless connection available in all public schools and buildings, community centers and NGOs, some parks and public areas. According to representatives of the City Hall and the Ministry of Communications, the project is part of a national initiative to foster digital inclusion and provide educational alternatives around the country. Belo Horizonte was chosen to pilot the project due to its mountainous topography.

Now, this is excellent news! I wonder whether Sao Paulo will be contemplated as well.
